Writing mentors work alongside learners using a variety of writing curriculum. Professor Carter's "Meaningful Writing" practical approach will be applied to history, math, English, science, etc. assignments.
Students working on research papers are encouraged to seek a writing mentor to help.
The difference between a writing mentor and a tutor is the work put in by the student. A tutor is recommended when students are reluctant or struggling writers, whereas those who just need a bit of guidance or direction in a given assignment to become stronger writers may simply require a writing mentor.
A mentor guides a student on how to complete or approach a specific kind of writing. Mentors work with students working on long-term projects. Sessions are scheduled at the student's convenience.
